Yummy (and healthy) smoothies!

I've been making smoothies with things I learn are full of vitamins and nutrition, from Dr. Greger and others who believe in the value of a plant based, whole food diet.

I use:

  • frozen cranberries (and/or others)
  • carrots
  • kale or cabbage
  • banana... ripe (may be frozen)
  • beans that I had previously cooked from dried

  • chia seeds
  • nutritional yeast
  • horseradish, garlic, or fresh radish/dikon
  • apple (or another fresh fruit)
  • plant-based milk, using flax milk these days
  • a chunk of peeled lemon

My friend, Lloyd, shared his smoothie recipe with me, so I add these now and then:

  • turmeric root (1 inch) 
  • half a beet
